Arizona soldier killed in Afghanistan

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz- An Arizona soldier was killed in Afghanistan as a result of enemy fire.
The Department of Defense announced Sunday that 29-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Ryan J. Savard of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died Oct. 13, in Khanabad District, Afghanistan from small arms fire while on patrol during combat operations.
He was assigned to the U.S. Army Special Operations Command in Fort Bragg, N. C.
