A baby watch is underway at the Phoenix Herpetological Society.
Keepers there are anxiously waiting to see if a pair of alligators will be parents soon.
Fluffy, a gentile female alligator, and Clem, the biggest and most aggresive reptile at the facility, were paired up with the hope that they'd produce offspring.
"He's doing quite well, he's adapted to his new home and his new girl so he seems to be quite happy," says Daniel Marchand. "A lot of courtship going on with him and her, and she was receptive to it, no disagreement."
So far, though, there are no eggs.
