YARNELL, Ariz. (AP) - A wildfire just east of Yarnell and Peeples Valley in north-central Arizona is nearing full containment. Fire officials say the French Gulch Fire had burned 836 acres and was 85 percent contained after ground crews and aircraft make good progress yesterday.

PHOENIX (AP) - Oral arguments are set for today in the case of a woman whose conviction was overturned in the death of her 4-year-old son. Debra Milke is seeking to disqualify the Maricopa County Attorney's Office from the case, claiming they are pursuing it purely for political reasons. Milke was convicted and sentenced to death in 1990 for sending her son off to visit a mall Santa Claus with two men who killed the boy in the desert.

PHOENIX (AP) - A man has been sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison for running a crack cocaine ring that sold drugs out of homes in south Phoenix. Attorney General Tom Horne's office says David Allen Mosley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell dangerous drugs and possession of cocaine base last week. An investigation by Phoenix police and the DEA led to the arrest of Mosley and more than 50 others.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Nov. 12 sentencing date has been set for two suspended U.S. Border Patrol agents who were convicted of violating the civil rights of four suspected marijuana smugglers in southern Arizona. Agents Dario Castillo and Ramon Zuniga were convicted in April of forcing the suspects to eat marijuana, strip to their underwear and flee into a desert instead of arresting them late in 2008.
