TUCSON - Arizona added over 15,000 nonfarm jobs to its workforce in October, reducing its seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate by one-tenth of a percent to 9 percent.
Arizona added 12,700 jobs to the private sector, which is above average, and a below-average 2,800 government jobs in October, according to the Arizona Dept. of Administration, which released employment statistics for October on Thursday morning.
All sectors, except for "Other services," added jobs in October - Education and Health Services adding the most with over 3,900, states the department in a news release.
So far this year, 44,700 non-farm jobs have been added in Arizona, with the private sector accounting for 91 percent of those gains.
