PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a second child has died after a minivan and a car collided in southwest Phoenix.
Phoenix police say the Monday morning crash killed a 4-year-old girl in the van and a 5-year-old child later died at a hospital.
The gender of the 5-year-old isn't immediately available and authorities haven't released the victims' names.
Police say an 11-year-old boy was hospitalized in serious condition along with a man in his 40s who was the driver of the sedan.
The minivan reportedly was being driven by a 16-year-old boy and several children were ejected from the vehicle.
Witnesses told police that the minivan reportedly was trying to pass a car on the shoulder of a road. The driver reportedly overcorrected and veered into oncoming traffic and broadsided by a sedan.
