PHOENIX (AP) - State Rep. Jack Brown is retiring after 36 years in the Legislature.
Brown is an 80-year-old Democrat from St. Johns. He represents a sprawling district covering parts of five counties in eastern Arizona.
Brown first served in the Legislature in 1963. He served 11 years, then was re-elected in 1986 and has served ever since in both the House and the Senate. He is a former Democratic leader in the Senate.
Brown says he hopes to devote more time to farming and ranching.
