NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Nogales man wanted on drug charges by the FBI in Massachusetts has been arrested in southern Arizona.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say 23-year-old Nestor Antonio Verduzco Amescua was taken into custody Tuesday at the Mariposa Port in Nogales.
Officers referred Amescua and his passenger for a secondary inspection of his vehicle when he applied to enter the United States from Mexico.
After a routine records check revealed the warrant out of Boston, officers turned Amescua over to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department for extradition.
Details of the warrant weren't immediately available Wednesday and authorities didn't know if Amescua had a lawyer yet.
