PHOENIX - Maricopa County sheriff's deputies say they have arrested 10 people, including three juveniles, who are believed to be part of a human smuggling operation.
The sheriff's office says the 10 people were traveling in a car Friday night in northern Maricopa County when the vehicle was stopped. Six of the adults were booked into the 4th Ave. jail.
The three juveniles along with one adult were turned over to immigration agents.
Deputies say the juveniles ranged in age from 8 to 16.
Investigators say all 10 claimed to be Mexican nationals. They had paid up to $4,000 to be smuggled into the U.S. Their destinations were New York and Georgia.
