TUCSON - Round two of Monsoon storms are expected to start your weekend.
After yesterday's rainfall the yearly total has shot up over 5.00" and puts Tucson more than a half inch above normal, according to Meteorologist John Patrick. A similar set up in the atmosphere is in place today as plenty of moisture and an inverted trough work together to fire up more showers and storms. Enough moisture will hang around on Sunday to support a possible round three of scattered storms. With the Monsoon activity ramping up this weekend be ready for strong gusty winds, heavy rainfall and dangerous lightning.
Dry air begins to filter in next week turning down the Monsoon action. Starting Monday only isolated storms are forecast throughout the work week. Daytime highs will generally hover right around 100 for the Tucson area.
