TUCSON - Isolated to scattered storms return to Southern Arizona once again this afternoon.
As high pressure sets up in the four corners over the next few days moisture will continue to push into the region. The deepest moisture column remains east of Tucson for today but storms could steer into the metro area later this afternoon and evening after forming in the higher elevations. As with any thunderstorm strong winds, heavy rain and lightning are all possibilities to wrap up the weekend.
As a more typical monsoon pattern sets up over the desert southwest storm chances increase throughout the work week. Best chance to see thunderstorms firing up this week will be by Wednesday as an inverted trough is forecasted to move through the region.
