TUCSON - Nothing Fall-like about this forecast.
The late Summer swelter continues according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. High pressure parked over Las Vegas turns the thermostat up to the 100's this afternoon with mostly sunny skies. No big chances in store through Saturday, as triple digit temps during the daytime hours will be followed by overnight lows in the 70's for Tucson.
As of this morning, Tucson has hit 100 degrees or hotter 69 times in 2012. The 70th triple digit day of the year would make for 4 consecutive years of 70 or more 100 degree days in the Old Pueblo.
A slight cooling trend makes an appearance next week, due to a low pressure trough passing north of Arizona. Expect highs to drop from the upper 90's Sunday to low 90's the middle of next week. We could see a little more cloud cover Sunday and Monday as moisture increases some over the area.
