VAIL - The Vail School District is notifying parents about another confirmed case of pertussis - commonly called whooping cough.
This one is at Andrada Polytechnic High School. It's the first reported case at the school.
Empire High School has seen three confirmed cases in just one month. On recommendations from the Pima County Health Department, the school is telling kids who haven't been vaccinated for whooping cough to stay home for 21 days. Once vaccinated, they can return after 14 days.
The district is working closely with the Pima County Health Department on the issue.
