Annual Bro-Fest raises money to help struggling school district

TUCSON - For the sixth year in a row the annual "Bro-Fest" accomplished it's mission, raising money for worthy causes and providing a great day of fun for all.

The event is held every year to honor the memory of two brothers, Danny and Mikey Mack, who died in separate vehicular accidents just months apart. The event was first organized by family and friends to raise money for charity.

This years Bro-fest took place at Jacob's park and featured live music, food, face painting, raffles and a silent auction. Committee member and event organizer, Virg Diebold, says the main purpose is to help a school district that has been a big part of the Mack family's lives, "It's all just to benefit the families of Flowing Wells School District and Walter Douglas School in Mikey's and Danny's memory."

The money raised will allow every student and teacher at Walter Douglas Elementary School $25.00 in books for summer reading.

Donations will also be made to the community food bank, the Salvation Army and Fit Kids. Contributions can be sent to "Magical Builders- Mack Fund", P.O. Box 14001, Tucson, AZ 85732-4001.
