Anchor - Tom McNamara

Tom McNamara joined News 4 in July, 1997 as the 5, 6 and 10 pm anchor.

Since then, he's won numerous Emmys and Associated Press awards for his general news reporting, as well as his work as KVOA's ‘Chief Investigator.'

Tom was no stranger to Arizona. He'd worked as an anchor and reporter for a TV station in Phoenix back in the 1980's.

He left that position for bigger opportunities out of state. But always knew he'd be back in Arizona someday.

One of those "opportunities" out of state meant co-anchoring with the former Susan McMullen.

Tom and Susan married, arrived in Tucson, and they're now the happy parents of three beautiful girls!

Tom's a native of New York City, and a graduate of Fordham University. He's held on-air reporting and anchoring jobs in Scranton, PA, Raleigh, NC, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, and Tucson.

Two of the highlights of Tom's career include his reporting from Saudi Arabia on the Gulf War. And, an award-winning series he produced in Kuwait immediately following the war. Tom chronicled the efforts of firefighting teams, battling the enormous oil well fires that raged for nine months in the wake of that war.
