Emmy-award winning anchor, Allison Alexander, is no stranger to the desert. Years ago, she worked in Tucson as a weekend anchor and, most recently, was an anchor/reporter in Phoenix. She graduated from the acclaimed Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State where she met her husband, a Tucson native. While there, she received a Society of Professional Journalists award for her reporting and the Walter Cronkite scholarship for excellence in journalism.
Allison started her professional TV career in Oklahoma, then made stops in Texas and Louisiana. In 2002, she made her first stop in Tucson. She left for the big city lights and frigid winters of Cleveland, Ohio where she was an anchor/special correspondent. She then moved to New England where she was the evening anchor in Providence.
With well over a decade of TV experience, Allison has covered the gamut. She has reported on racial tensions in the south, drug and immigration issues along the Mexico border, tornadoes, wildfires, presidential races, the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy, and Allison has even worked the red carpet at the Grammy Awards and CMAs! Her work has earned her recognition from the Associated Press, an Emmy, and several Edward R Murrow Awards.
While in New England, Allison portrayed a news anchor in the movie Tell Tale, with Josh Lucas. She has also appeared in the ABC show Body of Proof.
Allison enjoys working with children's and women's charities and has been heavily involved with St. Jude Children's Hospital, the MDA, the March of Dimes, the MS Society, the Women's Center of Rhode Island, and the Epilepsy Foundation.
Allison and her husband have a toddler, named Paige, and are thrilled to be back in Tucson close to family!
If you have any story ideas, Allison would love to hear from you.
