Police at the University of Arizona were busy Saturday trying to put a major dent into homecoming underage drinking.
They say improvements have been made on the wristband system enacted last season when the university limited alcohol sales to one area on the UA Mall.
Campus authorities say the number one prevention method is to control sales.
Holly Brown with the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership is manning the homecoming wristband distribution station. "We started it last year. We're kind of working out the kinks. We definitely want to stop underage drinking and we just want to limit people's amounts."
Brown says the number one purpose is to prevent alcohol related injuries or deaths, "We can't control what people do at home but here on campus, we just want to make sure it's safe. So we have a limit four beers during the day."
The cost was $8 two beers over a two-hour period.
It was also a good homecoming, as the Wildcats defeated Washingn State 48-to-7.
