TUCSON - Tucson Police say alcohol may have been a factor in a motorcycle accident last night the claimed the life of a 31-year-old man.
Police say Daniel A. Wilson succumbed to his injuries early this morning after crashing his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle into a Cadillac at the intersection of Speedway and Grady, near Kolb, at about 8:10 p.m. last night.
The Traffic Investigations Unit has determined that Wilson was riding west in the middle lane of Speedway when a man driving a 1994 Cadillac Seville made a u-turn from eastbound speedway to the westbound middle lane of Speedway at Grady. TPD states that the motorcycle overtook the vehicle at a high rate of speed, attempting to pass on the left. The motorcycle then struck the left-rear of the Cadillac. Wilson was not wearing a helmet, TPD officials state.
The investigation suggests that alcohol may have been a contributing factor for the motorcycle accident, police state. There are no pending charges against the Cadillac driver.
