TUCSON - A drunk driver was responsible for a 4 car crash near Casino del Sol Sunday night, Pima County Sheriff's deputies said.
A 47-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on Valencia when he struck another vehicle heading in the same direction, Deputy Tom Peine said in a release. The driver skidded and then struck a second vehicle in the opposing lane of traffic. Then he hit another passenger car head on, Peine said. That car was occupied by 6 people.
The 47-year-old was taken to UAMC with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition, Peine said.
The 72-year-old woman who was hit head on is stable but suffering from serious injuries. The other four victims suffered only minor injuries.
