TUCSON - Air Force jets will fly over Arizona Stadium Saturday, November 21, 2009, in commemoration of Davis Monthan Day at the University of Arizona/Oregon Football game.
The DM-50 is sponsoring a tailgate party and game tickets for 2000 Davis Monthan Air Force Base personnel and their families during the Arizona/Oregon game. The tailgate party begins at 4:00pm.
Lt. General Glenn Spears, Brig. General Paul Johnson, and Governor Jan Brewer are expected to attend the tailgate event and be present for the fly-over before making their way to the UA/Oregon football game at Arizona Stadium.
The fly-over will happen at 5:00pm instead of the traditional pre-game because the fly-over must be done in daylight. The jets are scheduled to fly east to west over the UA Mall.
The UA Marching Band will perform the National Anthem at the tailgate area at University and Cherry during the fly-over.
The DM-50 consists of civic and business leaders who assist in providing services for the good welfare and morale of airmen stationed at DMAFB, and act as a lobbying group to remind federal officials that DMAFB is important to the nation, Tucson and our local economy.
