Agents rescue banged-up hiker west of Tucson

TUCSON - An injured hiker was rescued by Border Patrol agents Saturday.

Agents found the woman at about 8 p.m. that night. She had a broken collar bone, ribs and possible broken ankles, a Border Patrol release said.

National Park officials called the agents to assist in locating the woman, who was injured while hiking the Arch Canyon area of the Organ Pipe National Monument.

Border Patrol's Tucson Sector dispatched air assets to look for her. She was taken by helicopter to a Tucson hospital.
