Accident closes part of I-17 in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) - A serious accident involving a wrong-way vehicle closed part of southbound Interstate 17 in north Phoenix Monday morning.
Authorities say a woman and her daughter were seriously injured when their car collided with another vehicle going the wrong way in the southbound HOV lane of I-17 at Dixleta Drive.
Television station KTVK (http://bit.ly/Y5wLZ2) reports that the other vehicle's driver suffered minor injuries.
The wreck and subsequent investigation blocked three lanes of southbound I-17, leaving only one lane open for the morning commute.
