TUCSON - A 2-car accident involving an armored car has knocked out power for 200 Tucson Electric Power customers, officials said.

The armored car hit a power pole near Grant and Dodge, causing the disruption.

The accident sent three people to the hospital, 1 with life-threatening injuries, Tucson Fire Department spokesman Cpt. Barret Baker said.

Traffic near the area is being diverted as a result.

Tucson Police say drivers can expect the intersection of Grant at Richie to be closed until about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Eastbound Grant will be restricted through rush hour as workers replace the pole that was knocked down.
