TUCSON - A 3-year old girl is recovering after nearly drowning in her family's hot tub.
It happened on the east side on Quartermaster Court.
News 4 Tucson obtained the 911 call shortly after the accident.
While talking to dispatchers a witness said, "We were just sitting by the pool and one of the 3 year olds was in the Jacuzzi and we turned around and she was under the water on her back and we pulled her out of the pool and she came back to. I think it had just happened."
Firefighters said shortly after the mother pulled her out of the water, she gave the girl CPR. Captain Trish Tracy with the Tucson Fire Department said, "CPR probably saved the child and we cannot over emphasize the importance of learning CPR."
CPR may have been the savior in this case, but there are plenty of other things you can do to prevent accidents from ever happening.
Tracy said, "You need to have constant adult supervision, security or create barriers of protection like pool alarms and fences, and safety training like enrolling kids in swimming lessons."
