BENSON- A 9-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the leg Sunday morning, while hunting with his grandfather.
According to Carol Capas with the Cochise County Sheriff's Department, the boy was airlifted to UAMC with non-life threatening injuries.
Capas says the boy was climbing over a fence near Cascabel Road and Farnsworth Field northeast of Benson, when his rifle accidentally discharged.
The boy is currently in surgery as a result of the injuries.
