NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - A 55-year-old Mexican man from Nogales in Sonora has been arrested after more than 200 packages of marijuana were found in a tractor-trailer he was driving.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection says the man tried to enter the U.S. at the Nogales port of entry on Thursday with a shipment of tile.
Inspection officers found the marijuana hidden amid the tile. It weighed about 800 pounds and is worth an estimated $400,000.
The driver was taken into custody and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
