80 children to be placed with adoptive families Saturday

TUCSON- Pima County's 13th annual Adoption Day Celebration will be held at Udall Park this Saturday, November 3, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. At this event 80 children will find a loving home.

This event is a part of National Adoption Day, designed to call attention to the benefits that adoptions provide to children, adoptive parents and birthparents. This event will have food and beverages, jumping castles, face painting, cake walks and other entertainment for the children, provided at no cost to the families.

Court Judges will finalize adoption cases for 80 children, who will be placed with about 58 different families. Seventy-four percent of these children were in the DES system before being connected to their new families. St. Nicholas of Myra is a non-profit organization who matches children with an adoptive family. They have nearly 100 children waiting to be matched to an adoptive family. "There is one child who is waiting for you," said Program Director Tricia Quiroz.

For more information on adoptions contact St. Nicholas of Myra Certification Specialist Christina Villa at 520-745-8791 ext. 140 or send an email to christinav@ccs-stnicks.org
