TUCSON - An 8-year-old boy is doing his part to bring goodwill to the community.
Austin Quiroz was diagnosed with leukemia five years ago.
His mom says they were touched by the generous donations given to Austin while he was in the hospital.
Austin has been collecting teddy bears to share with other children in need this holiday.
On Saturday morning, Austin and his family joined the crew of Northwest Fire District Station 38 to donate the teddy bears to the Northwest Firefighters Charities Holiday Assistance Program.
Northwest firefighters will distribute Austin's donations to local children.
His mom Kim says it's just a heartfelt feeling to be able to give back to the community. She says she also likes seeing the excitement on Austin's face.
Firefighters rewarded his efforts by giving him a tour of the station.
The family says they've been doing this for four years now.
They start collecting the day after Christmas.
