GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A 6-month-old Glendale girl is fighting for her life after she was found underwater in a tub.
Glendale Fire Department spokesman Danny Senese said Tuesday paramedics tried to revive the girl who is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
Senese says the girl's mother decided to give her a bath and left her in the tub. The girl was submerged in the water when her mother returned.
Firefighters arrived at the home about 4:40 a.m. and found the girl had no pulse and wasn't breathing.
Senese says when giving a child a bath, caregivers should keep everything they need nearby.
He also says drowning can occur in other places besides swimming pools and parents should be vigilant.
