TUCSON - Tucson residents will have the chance to take a free, comprehensive stroke assessment this weekend at a number of hospitals around town.
The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association have teamed up with six local hospitals to provide the exams from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 14.
"During each StrokeCheck exam, medical professionals will provide a thorough health assessment, which may include blood pressure checks, cholesterol and glucose screenings, ultrasound scans, pulse check and cardiac rhythm strip," officials state in a news release. "Medical professionals will patiently explain the results to each patient, and provide copies of screening results that patients can save for their records. "
Below are the locations of the six area hospitals where StrokeCheck exams will be available:
-St. Joseph's Hospital, 350 N. Wilmot Rd.
-Tucson Medical Center, 5301 E. Grant Rd.
-Northwest Medical Center, 6200 N. La Cholla Blvd.
-Oro Valley Hospital, 1551 E. Tangerine Rd., Oro Valley
-St. Mary's Hospital, 1601 W. St. Mary's Rd.
-University of Arizona Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave. (Dining Rooms C, D, E & F)
