3 people injured as plane flips at Phoenix-area airport

PHOENIX (AP) - Three people on a single-engine plane reportedly escaped serious injury when it went off a runway at a north Phoenix airport and flipped upside down.

Spokesman Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration says preliminary information indicates the Cessna 172 was taking off at Deer Valley Airport this morning when the accident happened.

Video shows the plane upside down at few feet from a runway. Vehicles parked nearby included a fire engine.
