2011 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship - Day 7, and the winner is . . .

MARANA - Englishman Luke Donald beat German Martin Kaymer by 3 strokes with only 2 holes to play. It was a case of déjà vu all over again as again this year an Englishman won the title over his opponent on the 16th hole. Both of today's players hit good shots into the par 3 green. Kaymer putted first and missed his putt for birdie opening the door for Donald to close out the match. Donald's try for birdie missed but his effort was close enough that Kaymer conceded the putt and along with it the victory. In the consolation match, Matt Kuchar defeated Bubba Watson by 2 strokes with 1 hole to play.

This is the last posting for this year from the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana and the Accenture Match Play Championship. Once again, thanks to News 4 Tucson for allowing me to document in pictures the action taking place over the past 7 days at the golf course. It was a great week.

Until next time . . .
