TUCSON - Keeping your eyes and ears open while you're 2 wheeling around town is extremely important. The problem is that many of us like to listen to music while we ride.
Kevin Goldstein, a local cyclist, found himself in this exact situation and decided to do something about it.
"I started looking for a single ear bud that would mix both stereo channels into one, but the ones that I found wouldn't hold up to the abuse I put them under while I was cycling," he added.
So he created the "One Good Earbud." A single bud that mixes both audio channels, and allows you to be aware of your surroundings.
"The response has been overwhelming. People have been buying them from all over the world. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, England, Spain, Germany," Goldstein said.
Local cyclist Mary Reynolds, uses one, and loves being able to ride and have peace of mind.
"I have it in my right ear because that's the side that's away from traffic, so I can hear if someone's coming up behind me and I have a greater awareness of the traffic around me," she said.
And while the "One Good Earbud" was only available online, it's popularity has taken it to the store shelves. Sharon Bart, owner of The Running Shop, says she sold out in just a few weeks. When I asked her if she's seen anything fly off her shelves that fast, and she said "not for a long time."
