2 new maps show evac. areas and Monument Fire growth

SIERRA VISTA - Two new maps released by officials offer new and detailed information on the Monument Fire and its effect on the surrounding areas.

The latest evacuation map, released today by the City of Sierra Vista, clearly shows the current evacuation and pre-evacuation areas. An area bounded by Kachina Rd on the north, Ramsey Canyon Rd. on the south, Highway 92 on the east and Ft. Huachuca to the south has been ordered to evacuate so that crews may perform a controlled burn in Ramsey Canyon.

Pre-evacuation order have been issued for Sierra Vista residents from Ramsey Road to the south, as far north as Highway 90 in some areas. Check the map for an accurate depiction of the pre-evacuation and evacuation areas.

Another map, released today by incident commanders, shows an accurate progression of the Monument Fire from June 12 onward, showing each day of growth as a different color.
