TUCSON - A Customs and Border Protection helicopter helped locate and rescue two hikers who were reported missing in Sycamore Canyon, loacted south of Vail, last night.

Assisted by the helicopter crew, Border Patrol agents located the 63-year-old man and 11-year-old child within a short time, after being flagged down by a concerned family member, according to a news release from CBP. The hikers were given a medical check and then returned to their group.

The CBP regularly works closely with federal, state, local and tribal agencies to save the lives of those in need.
