18-year-old rescued from Finger Rock Sunday

TUCSON - An 18-year-old boy was rescued from the Finger Rock trail Sunday after hurting his ankle while hiking with family.

The Pima County Sheriffs Department's Search and Rescue unit responded at about 5:20 p.m. to the boy, who had fractured his ankle duing the hike.

The boy's ankle was immobilized and carried in a rescue stretcher for about a mile, a release detailed.

The boy was transported to the hospital for treatment.
