TUCSON - Less than 200 people now without power in Tucson, about 160 of them are in the area of I-10 and Wilmot.
According to Tucson Electric Power spokesperson, Joseph Barrios, crews worked through the night to restore power to nearly 2500 people in the area. Fresh crews arrived this morning to finish the job. Barrios also said 6 poles will need to be replaced.
On the northwest side, 10 out of 12 poles have been replaced on Tangerine. Those were downed during yesterday night's storms.
"Every summer is different but these storms have been a challenge because the damage is so spread out," Barrios said. "We had problems near Tucson mall, damage on the southeast side and the northwest side. So it's just been a challenge, getting people out to all those sites."
