GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Glendale authorities say a 16-year-old boy drowned while swimming with friends in an apartment complex pool.
The two other boys got distracted before they saw him under the water, pulled him out, called 911 and performed CPR until firefighters arrived early Monday morning.
The victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The boys had been playing video games until 4:30 a.m. when they decided to take a swim.
