KANSAS SETTLEMENT, Ariz.,- Fourteen undocumented immigrants were arrested south of Willcox early Friday morning, after three of the undocumented immigrants burglarized a home.
Cochise County spokeswoman Carol Capas says a homeowner awoke around 1:30 a.m. after hearing noises coming from his kitchen.
When the homeowner went downstairs, he encountered a male going through his refrigerator.
The male took off and was met by another male outside.
Capas says the homeowner also heard footsteps on top of his house.
Cochise County Sheriff's along with Border Patrol agents responded and started a search of the surrounding area.
Border Patrol used night vision equipment to locate the three subjects on top of a nearby hill.
The three subjects attempted to flee as deputies and agents approached the hill, but were apprehended. Authorities found 11 other undocumented immigrants hiding on the hill.
Capas says the three men went to the house in search of food and water for the group.
The three men who burglarized the house were identified as 32-year-old Marcos Enrique Bobadilla Torres, 31-year-old Victor Verdugo-Chaparro, and 26-year-old Miguel Angel Perrez Bernal.
All three men were charged with burglary and theft. Torres and Bernal were also charged with smuggling of humans. The three men are being held without bail.
The 11 other undocumented immigrants were turned over to the Border Patrol.
