PHOENIX (AP) - The White House says more than 12,000 jobs were saved or created in Arizona because of President Barack Obama's economic stimulus plan.
Details haven't been released yet from reports submitted from state and local governments, higher education institutions and other funding recipients.
However, the White House says the figure of 12,283 jobs released Friday for Arizona covers just under half of the money "put to work" in Arizona through Sept. 30.
School teachers are expected to account for the biggest slice.
