CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - One person is dead and several others injured after authorities say a pickup truck going the wrong way on an Arizona freeway struck a charter bus head-on.
The pickup truck burst into flames and the driver was declared dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 10 in Casa Grande. I-10 is the main route between Phoenix and Tucson.
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves says the driver of the charter bus suffered critical injuries and some of the 15 other people aboard the bus are injured.
He didn't immediately know the exact number of injured or the severity of the injuries.
An 18-wheeler jackknifed at the accident scene, but Graves says the semi-truck wasn't involved in the crash.
