WIKIEUP, AZ - Authorities say a woman is dead and a man and teenage boy seriously injured after a small plane made an emergency landing near Wikieup in northwestern Arizona.
Mohave County Sheriff's officials say the woman was a passenger aboard the single-engine Mooney M20 that had an engine problem late Thursday morning.
The plane landed in an open area near Burro Creek Crossing, some three miles southeast of Wikieup and 40 miles southeast of Kingman about 11:15 a.m.
Sheriff's officials say a 13-year-old boy was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital while the man believed to be the pilot was taken to a medical facility in Las Vegas.
Their names weren't immediately released.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the aircraft was flying from Sedona to Minter Field in Shafter, Calif.
