TUCSON - Valley rain and mountain snow above 7,500 feet continues to fall through Saturday. After breaking the daily rainfall record on Friday with 1.39" of rain at TIA, we may pick up another 0.50''-1.00" across the metro today. Light to moderate rain is expected to fall through the afternoon before slowly tapering off into this evening. Many locations will see two day storm rainfall totals exceed the 2'' mark. With more rain falling on already saturated ground, street flooding and flowing washes will be the main concern today. Remember, never cross flooded roadways and give yourself extra time to travel today. Mountain snow will be confined to elevations above 7,500 feet this afternoon with the potential for another 6'' on the peaks. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sky Islands of southern Arizona until 5pm this afternoon. Skies will begin to clear from west to east on Sunday as this storm system finally makes its exit. Patchy fog will be possible tomorrow morning but by Super Bowl kickoff expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 60s. The 70s and sunshine return by Tuesday of next week.
