Monday's suspicious death ruled homicide

TUCSON - The suspicious death discovered in a midtown home Monday evening is now being ruled by Tucson Police as a homicide.

Following an autopsy by the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner, the death was ruled a homicide, but the cause of death has not been released at this time.

A truck belonging to the subject of the welfare check, and presumed homicide victim, is still unaccounted for. Tucson Police say the 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 pick-up truck's license plate is: 519NSP, and described as having a cab-height camper shell, colored beige, like the truck.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

TPD: Truck belonging to suspicious death victim missing

TUCSON - Police have released more information on the suspicious death discovered last night - apparently, the victim's vehicle is missing.

Tucson Police say that a beige 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 pick-up truck is unaccounted for. This truck belongs to the subject of the welfare check, found dead in a west-side home last night. Police have released a photo of a similar vehicle, and are hopeful that the person who has this vehicle may have valuable information about this case.

The suspicious death found by Tucson Police last night came after an out-of-state resident asked for a welfare check on her father, who she hadn't heard from for several days.

Officers made entry to a home at the 2400 block of N. Ironwood Ridge at about 8:30 p.m. last night, and found a deceased male inside the residence with signs of possible foul play. Homicide detectives responded to continue the investigation, TPD officials say.

The condition of the body prevented detectives from making a positive identification - TPD could not determine at the time whether the deceased subject was the father they were checking welfare on.

News 4 Tucson will have more details about this incident as they are released.
