4 Your Health - La Frontera Family Services - KVOA | KVOA.com | Tucson, Arizona

La Paloma Family Services provides protection and support to children from our community who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment.

Every year, hundreds of Tucson’s children from birth to 18 years of age are referred to La Paloma from the Department of Children’s Services due to allegations of abuse and neglect or because their parents are ill-equipped to provide the nurturance and guidance needed to raise their child successfully. Arriving with few or no personal belongings, each child’s immediate physical and emotional needs must quickly be assessed and addressed. The primary goal of foster care is to provide a safe and ideally a temporary home for children to live until they can transition to a permanent home, whether with their birth family, relatives or a pre-adoptive family.

Services Offered:

  • Emergency/Respite Foster Care - A child may be in need of placement for a short period of time. The reasons vary from pending relative home studies, emergency removal by protective services, or just need a break, or current placement is disrupted..
  • Family Foster Care - A family home where a child in care will live as part of the family.
  • Therapeutic Foster Care - Some children need more specialized care due to medical, emotional or mental health issues.
  • Residential Group Homes - Group homes serve adolescents in a residential setting designed to help them learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
