    We are honored to announce the 2nd annual Kristi's Kids swim scholarships. Thanks to a $2,000 donation from the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals Central & Southern Arizona Chapters, and a partnership with the YMCA, News 4 Tucson will be able to grant swim 35 scholarships to children six months to 2 years old. Each scholarship recipient will receive swim lessons at the YMCA. To register your 6-month to 2-year-old child, click here.

    Thanks to an additional $1,000 donation in the memory of Ingrid Savage, the YMCA and News 4 Tucson will be able to grant 17 more swim scholarships to children six months to 2 years old.

    Dr. Mazda Shirazi, a Banner UMC Toxicologist, said since synthetic marijuana first appeared in Pima County around 2010 there have been two peaks. "One of them in 2012 and one of them actually this year." These peaks have lead to emergency room visits and calls to the poison center.  Dr. Shiraz said our community has seen two deaths because of synthetic marijuana.

    The Simons family moved to Tucson back in December and the realtor put up a pool fence as a condition of the sale. The grandkids, who live with Lottie Simons and her husband, still weren't safe and they couldn't afford to buy a safer pool fence, so they signed up for the News 4 Tucson Lifesaver Pool Fence Giveaway contest.

    According to the Tucson Fire Department, only 20 percent of third graders know their home address.  To test this study and to see if students are prepared for an emergency, Kristi's Kids went to Anisa Elias' third grade classroom at Los Amigos Elementary in the Sunnyside School District. Kristi's Kids asked ten students if they know how to dial 911 when a phone is locked.
